Kathleen Nardella LICSW, LCSW-C
Welcome to the compassionate and supportive world of Kathleen Nardella, a professional who seamlessly integrates her legal expertise and social work acumen to guide adults through the intricate journey of family-building.
Kathleen holds a B.A. in English (Writing Emphasis) with Honors from Goucher College, a J.D. from Penn State Dickinson School of Law, and an M.S.W. from the University of Maryland School of Social Work. Her diverse educational background reflects a commitment to understanding and addressing the multifaceted challenges individuals and families face, particularly during the intricate journey of family-building.
Kathleen began her career as an associate attorney specializing in construction litigation with a medium-sized law firm in Washington, D.C. Her path took an unexpected turn when she was placed on bedrest during her first pregnancy. Following the birth, she found it necessary to become a full-time caregiver for a time in order to address her daughter’s developmental challenges. A second daughter joined the family during this time. Kathleen began volunteering with local organizations supporting new mothers, solidifying a growing interest in family dynamics. Driven by this passion, she pursued a master's degree in social work, eventually becoming a Child Custody Evaluator at Montgomery County Circuit Court. Her dedication to families led to her appointment by Governor Martin O'Malley to the Commission on Child Custody Decision-Making.
In 2013, Kathleen founded her private practice, initially focusing on family law matters. Over time, she returned to her earlier interest in supporting women during infertility, pregnancy and the transition to motherhood. Her practice also expanded to include individuals navigating career changes, life dilemmas, or the empty nest phase.
